No patience my ass, good job man. Nice truck
Lol it took two days to do just the passenger door, I still have to do the drivers side. I broke one lock, and had to buy a new set.

Dash cover came in today, and I won't fool with it until it stops raining (tomorrow sometime).

I have done some wiring. I have added electric fans from flex-a-lite, a GPS driven speedometer, chicken lights (cab lights) and my oil and water gauges. Most of these things wanted a key on power source, so I wired in a fused junction block. My cab lights are on a relay, and the junction block is on a relay, everything has a fuse. My wiring job looks like hammered crap, and I will get that cleaned up in the next week or so.

I have cleaned up the wiring, it is all tucked and /or wrapped in wire loom to hide it. I need to get my air conditioner charged up so I can run my electric fans, however I need to get a better temp sender for the e-fans. I am going to purchase the upper radiator hose splice/ sender so I get a better reading instead of the probe in the fins of the radiator.

I finally did the passenger side door pins/ bushings last week, wow that was beyond shot and I am glad I got those replaced.

I am working on wiring up an AD244 alternator. It is a 145a alternator and much much larger than the stock sized 105a alternator. With just all my lights on (including headlights) I was only getting 13.2 volts, so there's no way that running my air conditioner and electric fans the stock alternator could keep up. I got the alternator for 40% off on memorial day as a sale the pull a part does near me. My alternator came from a 2006 Envoy Denali that had the 5.3, and it is a four pin two wire setup. I am also going to do the big 3 upgrade as well, which is upgrading the charge wire to battery, engine to body ground, and body to frame ground. I seriously had to google what the big three meant, because no one explains it in their posts.

If you're interested in doing the AD244 alternator swap, here is a google link that will get you started: https://www.google.com/#q=ad244+alternator+swap.

I also did the front axle actuator conversion from thermal to electric. They are dorman part numbers 600-600 and 600-101. I also bought a new transfer case switch to replace the original. Instant engagement, I love it.

Small things left to do are:

Air conditioner recharge
Steering gear box change (massive oil leak at pitman arm)
steering shaft change to a u-joint style to eliminate the rag joint
new power steering lines

Larger items still on my fix it/ swap it list are:

6" lift and 35's
4:10's and a detroit locker in the back.

I copied this picture from another site, but this shows the difference in size between the two alternators.

There's a major difference in output, I went from 13.2 to 14.2 instantly. I upgraded the charge wire from like an 8 or 10 gauge wire to a 4 gauge wire, I also upgraded my factory grounds (I had a broken engine to body ground, most likely from the wreck). I upgraded them to 4 gauge wires as well.

I figured out that I needed roughly 80 amps at idle (counting all my stuff I have going on) and my stock alternator puts out 65 at idle. The new alt is claimed to put out 100 at idle.

I did buy a longer belt, because the OEM alternator has a belt size requirement of 95.5 inches long, and the new one I got is 96.8 inches long. My tensioner is a bit hard to move, so it may be time to change that out.

Glad to see you didn't send it to the wreck yard. Great job building it back up. Love those bumpers
I couldn't send it off, because my late grandmother helped buy the truck for me, so there's sentimental value there.

The front and rear bumpers ran me $1,500. Peacemaker is the company that made them.

I know all abt the sentimental value. I bought my first truck back mainly cuz it has memories, only sold it cuz we started family an needed the burb.
I'll have to look em up, price isn't to bad compared to other companies. Had a company close by called winch ready and their bumpers were amazing but would've been closer to 2500 for a set.
