Was riding around Silver Lake Dunes and my shift indicator went out on my 1995 k1500. I have 4 on the floor but will not engage or light up unless indicator works. Also wipers will not work. When the indicator light goes off it seems the ABS is in sync. If I mash on the throttle or hit any real big bumps it will flicker on and will have full functions again. Recently put a 6 inch on and re-geared to 4.56. It had previously flickered alittle here and there right after the gears were installed but I'm just not sure where to go next. I'm not sure if I have to rip the pan off and check the wires in my 4l60e or what. Maybe it could be a ignition switch but I move the key in and out and play with it and have no signs of that either. Seem to have a real head scratcher on this one. Any leads would be awesome.

Maybe some faulty wiring you got going on. Could be the multifunction switch going bad too. Maybe a bulb might be going bad on your cluster for the shift indicator.

Off-topic, but sorta on-topic: My 4x4 switch did the same exact thing to what your's is doing. The light will flicker on if you hit it hard enough. All I did was found another 4x4 push button switch and all was good.

My 4x4 is on the floor, I don't have a push button. It's like the indicator for PRND going on and off controls whether I have communications to my transfer case to engage 4x4, and anything on the column like wipers, motor, Abs light. I'm stumped honestly but I know that mashed throttle and bumps make the indicator come on sometimes just long enough to use wipers or engage 4x4

This is the diagnostic for no PRNDL indicators on a 1998 350 4L60e. Not sure if it's the same for a 1995, but maybe it will help track down this issue. You can get these for a 95 with an alldatadiy.com subscription--about $30/yr.

I know you don't have the push button, but I was saying my experiences with the electrical stuff. :)

Well I guess I will start with following the wires. I'm starting to think it's probably the Neutral safety switch down low or a wire on that pigtail acting up or corroded. The wires should tell me but any ideas are greatly appreciated as ripping the dash apart and following wires is my least favorite activity. Also thanks for the diagram that will assist me greatly in this issue.

Also found this morning that if I turn the key over the indicator rolls through the gears which I was aware of BUT when I hit the brake pedal the indicator flickers off. Not sure. I'm going to check the grounds out and test the neutral safety wiring out.
