Lets take this for what it is, a picture thread, of what you have towed recently with your vehicle instead of jumping to conclusions.

I've been around the block a few times, towing many different sized loads. You don't know that I have a CDL. You don't know that I had a chase vehicle with me. You don't know what roads I drove or whether I was in congested areas. You don't know that 40 mph was the MAXIMUM that I ever hit, and was in fact going mostly much slower than even that, and you don't know what kind of line of sight I had on the roads that I traveled.

The fact is, you don't know my situation or why I had to do what I did the way I did. Risks were mitigated as much as possible in many different ways.

This is the last time that I will post a picture of what I do in here, because apparently it isn't just a towing thread, there are too many keyboard crusaders on here who don't know even a fraction of the story. Carry on folks.

Amen!

Just a heads up don't post anything about running aftermarket headlights or HID's either.

yea....because NOTHING can happen at 40 mph.

people like you shouldn't be allowed to drive. you are not equipped with the brains or conscience for the task.....let alone the equipment.
That's a little harsh...

A lot of people want to run HIDs in housing that are not designed for them (stock or the majority of aftermarket). Basically, you blind the piss out of every car you pass with HIDs and just about every set of aftermerket lights you can buy on fleabay.

I know, I was just giving him a heads up that mentioning anything about them will get you a response like the previously quoted harsh response

I know, I've been pushed around by trailers before, and drove accordingly. Roads were wet. Only about 15 miles and went no more than 40 mph. The tires on the Suburban were more concerning to me than the lack of trailer brakes.

interesting.....since this is a "picture thread" why then did you volunteer this information?

"Probably overloaded the "C" rated tires, and installing my new P3 trailer brake controller moved up on my priority list a little so as to get working trailer brakes. Would typically tow stuff like this with my Dodge, but was pleasantly surprised how well the old Suburban did all things considered. Bear in mind I keep around 1000 lbs of tools in the back of this Suburban all the time, trailer weighs around 3500 lbs, and tractor with loader is probably around 3000 lbs. Not sure but I think it is only rated to tow 5000 lbs? "

you unabashedly stated you have no trailer brakes with a 6,500 pound trailer, overloaded tires and an additional 1K pounds in the back of the suburban.....and then you go on to admit you don't know the towing capacity of your truck...it almost sounded like you were proud of yourself.

so.....armed with the information that you so graciously provided, i CONCLUDED that you are irresponsible.....at best. reckless actually. having a CDL means you passed two tests.......

i would EXPECT someone in possession of a valid CDL to understand the potential ramifications of this recipe for disaster. maybe even try to protect that CDL. to each their own.

on a side note.....they give the driver's test in 11 different languages in New York state. did you know that?.... just because some "off the boat", non-English speaking, student visa-holding fu@k can pass a drivers test, doesn't mean they should have one and be allowed to operate a vehicle on an AMERICAN roadway......but that's just my opinion.

i was in the towing industry for 13 years....i lost track of all the dead folks i've seen....and i can't remember how many tourniquets i've applied to men women and children, mostly because of preventable accidents. a LOT of them due to non-professionals ATTEMPTING to tow something they had no business towing......that's the life of an authorized tow operator on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway......i can and have qualified my experience......see my other posts in various other towing threads. i don't change my tune....i've even put up some pictures.

keyboard crusader? perhaps YOU should consider that the next time you want to post about your irresponsible and illegal towing adventures......especially when there are experienced and responsible people watching......post stupid ****, someone might call you on it.

From Sasquatch to Louisiana gator hunting, nothing says I can get you there than a monster truck towing a fifth wheel camper with flotation tires. you can even float on water if need to hunt gators from your RV.
