I have a 96 k1500, 305 with the manual trans. The truck is cranking but not starting. Seems as if the engine is flooding out when I try to start it because the plugs are wet after. The engine is getting spark, has fuel pressure that is right ~60 psi and isn't losing the pressure once the key is turned off, indicating no leak in the regulator or the injectors. It has a new pressure regulator, MAP sensor, temp. control sensor, crankshaft position sensor, throttle body position sensor, wires, plugs, rotor, and pcv valve. Was running rich for a little then wouldn't start and is backfiring when I attempt to start it. Any help would be much appreciated especially if it helps save money broke college student!

Have you checked the firing order at all? Is this just now occurring after all the new parts or has it been some time since they were installed?

it had been carbon fouling the spark plugs previously, changed those parts and it ran good for about 3 weeks before this started.

If the plugs have been fouled for awhile it is possible that raw fuel ran down to the catalytic converter and got it hot and melted it, making it a giant plug. When they get plugged well enough they can backfire through the intake. In such a case, what happens is the cylinder cannot empty its exhaust so therefore cannot inhale fresh oxygen to ignite the fuel. That is one possible thing that fits your symptoms. But could be something else entirely. HTH.
