Just curious how y'all are putting y'all's subs into your ref cabs, I got 2 8s and not sure where to put them. I think for now behind the seat but I don't want them to hit the seat. How are y'all doin' it?

I had 2 8 in my RCLWB,,,,93 WT, then up grades to 2 10s. All in a box behind the seat. I built the box my self, but you can buy a box that will fit your truck. The bigger you can make your box the better it will sound, given the limited space you have. The box doesn't have to be deep, you make up that area in how big the box is.

How can I mount the sub to where the ring isn't slapping my seat?

A compact powered sub under the seat is the easiest cheapest way, plenty of thump for a regular cab and doesn't take up the precious little storage space in the cab.

Depending on what you have, they may not work for you.

Using a shallow mount driver, you can get a lot more displacement if you go larger.

Yes, it's expensive, but the JL Audio shallow mount 10" is damn good. 3 1/4" deep. If you recess the frame, your box can be as shallow as 4", provided you use 3/4 material.

Many years ago, I built a box for a friend with a shallow mount Pioneer driver that he provided. The box was very thin to fit behind his seat. I cut a recess in the box with a router behind the magnetic assembly, and the magnet was within 1/8" of a 3/16" thick aluminum plate I used to allow the woofer more mounting depth than the box would allow.
