Hey y'all what are my options for a passenger drop t-case for a GM NV4500? All the threads or articles I can find re about the dodge transmission version. Will any passenger drop from a Chevy/gmc work or do I have to get a adapter or certain year t-case?

32 spline np208, np241, np205. Np241 is kind of rare in pass drop. Np205 will require a different adapter but I think you can get them for around $120 now.

Np241 question. between the passenger drop and driver drop np241 both with electric speedo. What is compatible. Specifically can I take a 32 spline input shaft from a *driver drop* and put it in passenger drop thats 27 spline?? Any help is appreciated. picking up a passenger side drop 241 tomorrow

Anybody know if this will work? im trying to source a 32 spline np241 pass side drop for my sas in my 91 chevy and i have a 350 sbc with 5 speed manual. I already have a np241 driver side drop. also have a few other transfer cases (np208) but either they are 27 spline or driver drop..
thanks

So I put a 93 nv3500 in my 95 the sensor towards the front of the transfer case don't match. The electrical connection nor threads and length of the sensor. I believe it's the sensor that tells the front axle actuator to engage. Anyone happen to know if i could get the correct sensor for the mismatched year or would it be better to just throw some kind of toggle or button to tell the actuator to engage.

yup i think ill stick with stopping, but there is no need to put it in Neutral right
I have yanked mine in to 4 hi at high way speeds you just let off gas tank stick back and then hit the gas if needed or how ever you drive !!!! I’ve never knock on wood had an issue but putting it in from stopped position if I spin when taking off it will slam in the front axel I feel that is more damaging then how I do it it’s smooth that way !!!!

243 vs 246 case. You have an auto trac case, and need the 4 button switch if you want it to work.

Hey all, I picked up a 98 Z71 a few days ago. While talking to the previous owner he mentioned that he replaced the TCase input shaft seal recently. That caught my attention because in the S10 world I fought with the 4L60E and np233 transfer case ATF migration problem. Basically the np233 has a double lip seal on its input shaft that keeps ATF from flowing from the transmission to the TCase. That seal was prone to failure.

My question, are the np243 input shaft seals also prone to failure and do I need to be concerned with fluid migration through my vacuum system? Or do these seals work pretty well and only need to be changed because of normal wear?

I recently just purchased this truck (94 K3500 4wd) and put it up on 4 jack stands so all 4 tires cleared the floor. With the #7 fuse out, I can put the floor shifter into 4H and just the back tires spin. So I put the fuse back in and shift it from 2H to 4H and I hear a gosh-awful grinding noise. So am I correct in assuming the transfer case is ok and the front differential has a broken chain or something?
