You really don't want LEDs in your headlights unless you have the W/T grille and you want to spend $300+ on specially designed reflectors. If you use drop in LED replacements in the composite housings you will be blinding oncoming traffic for sure. The factory composite housings are designed for halogen bulbs only. We went over this in a ton of detail in this thread.

Not sure what page unfortunately, but it's in there.

Yeah, I've read through those earlier this week, could I get a pure white bulb through halogens? Really just want them for the color. And what cable is that that was mentioned in that thread that put out more light? And where could I get one? And does it draw more power? Cuz I have some other stuff hooked and I don't want to slaughter the battery.

"Pure" white bulb with halogens is possible, Silverstar Ultras come to mind. The downside is the blue coating on the glass will rob you of light output, and trap heat so they burn out much faster. I've used them before and the brightness sucked, plus the more yellow looking standard halogens are much easier for your eyes to use. Unfortunately what looks good and works well are seldom the same thing.

The harness we talked about in there replaces your factory headlight harness, and doesn't draw any more power than usual. It just has much better wiring and relays to supply the power instead of running everything through the headlight switch. Very worthwhile upgrade, you'll gain a ton of light output. You can PM @gmachinz to get one, he custom makes them.

Yeah, I'll probably keep from doing those then, the halogens will just have to do, maybe I'll just do the parking lights. And you can still use the 4-hi mod with the new harness?

4-Hi can be included if you want it, like I said he custom makes each harness. You could have him add provisions for switches or whatever else you want.

I know this is probably not a good place to ask, but it seems like some of the more knowledgeable people on lighting are passing through here,
Would the 9011/9012 bulbs in a set of Spyder clear lenses with an upgraded harness and 4Hi mod be a reasonable amount of light? Not HID bright, and not as **** as the stock housings and bulbs?

I know having them aimed and all will help tremendously, I just don't want to be blinding people with low beams even if they are aimed properly,

We went over this in a lot more detail in the big thread, but personally I wouldn't use HIRs in the low beam position of the Spyders. The lack of the painted glare cap that you have on a factory 9006 bulb concerns me. High beams would be fine.

Either way, what you described would be a MASSIVE improvement over the stock setup. Even the Spyders or the harness by themselves would help you a lot.

What would you recommend for a low beam? I want to stick with relatively stock lighting, drop in HIR bulbs and whatnot,

A factory 9006 halogen with no colored coating on the bulb. These are what I use in both of my trucks, Sylvania XtraVision 9006. I like them a lot, used to use GE NightHawks but these are just as good to my eyes and half the price.

I use the Sylvania XtraVision 9005s in my high beams as well. I can't be bothered to trim the bases on HIRs. Plenty bright for me with factory bulbs and 4-Hi.
