I remember reading a little bit on these things, and i think their may still be a parts website that has good info on these cases.

32 spline outputs are nice and bigger chain is always good.

So rear shaft got changed than?
I think he mentioned the slip yoke had enough play that the stock shaft would work.
Yup, rear driveshaft had a solid 2.5" of slip left in, and there isn't enough compression to bottom it out.

Can't ever catch a break. Gives you an excuse to drive the 88
Eh, it just sat parked for a couple weeks. I have a company rig anyway.

Sorry, got confused. When he said slip yoke I thought he meant the original transfer case had a slip yoke output and he was changing transfer case to a fixed rear. Any time people say slip yoke i always assume non fixed outputs because the other way is rather rare

Slip yoke on the splined driveshaft.

Ignore me

LOL you got it.

Every driveline needs some slip, I shouldn't have said yolk in there that was my bad on wording.

Time for an update!

After awhile of searching, I found another Lund Coldfront that fits this truck. I've had one on my 88 for years now, and it's great in the winter. Warms up faster. These have been discontinued awhile now, glad to have found it. new in box.

Also had a successful trip to the junkyard, found a set of 08+ Express/Savana HVAC knobs for my truck. I then picked up a 4th and modified it to fit on the headlamp switch which involved cutting the shaft down and dremeling the knob itself to fit. Really think it gives it a more modern look and ties together nicely with the stereo and the escalade handles.

We also had a good 8-10" of snow yesterday... first time I've had snow at my actual house in years. Couldn't resist taking the dually out in it to work, and later took the 88 out to play around.

Love this sight at home

Once it got later, I swapped over the driver's door from the suburban since it had better paint than mine; that was one of the reasons I bought a black parts truck.

Oh, on my last junkyard trip I scored these: GMT800 crewcab body trim. Have been looking for a set for a long while now.

With the door swapped and old body trim removed, I was able to install the new trim. Can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can wash it and get decent pictures with the new trim!

Do you buy stuff and hope that it works? Have you ever bought something and it just wouldn't work. Very nice set up by the way

I've seen the dorman ones, and I've seen OEM ones on ebay for less than them if you can find them. GM Part Number 25922402

Here is a listing for one - http://www.ebay.com/itm/182255632913?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
