i like the direction you're going. your and my taste are quite similar.
Well, still have another month of waiting until I can afford all of the engine parts to swap on and reseal it before it goes in the truck. But I got sick of the garage being a mess, so I rolled this thing out and cleaned up a little bit.
While cleaning up, I threw the hood back on.
Used a 93 filler piece below the grille. It's black, will get painted when the truck does. For some reason the front bumper brackets didn't really sit well with my C3500. (Not sure why, everything should be somewhat the same. I don't think the C2500/C3500 front bumper brackets are any different than the C1500 and K-Series trucks which have straight frame horns but who knows.
Ether way, was able to get it to look somewhat right. I'm debating the idea of scrapping the brackets and making my own but we'll see. I couldn't get the corner brackets to work without hitting the core support, so i'll have to modify them or make them work somehow.. not sure why I had issues with this... The front end has tagged a few deer over the years, but it's not like the frame is bent or anything.
Nonetheless you get an idea of what it's going to look like when it's all done. Still needs painted, new fenders, a new bed (from the red truck when I short bed swap it) and the bed body lift blocks put on. Also going to have to figure out how to make a gooseneck hitch work in this truck, just so it has one.

94 and up used a different grill, filler panel and bumper brackets.
Ahh. So thats why. When i looked on ebay for stock replacement bumper brackets prior to the body lift, the ones i found said 88-98 so i didn't think twice to check differences. But thats why the body lift "technically" doesn't work for the pre 94 truck....
I knew about the filler panel and grille obviously but good to know. It turned out okay, but I am thinking about reinforcing the front bumper behind the bumper since i've got so much more up in the front end there. Making custom corner brackets and what not.
I might just try and fab up completely new front bumper brackets and see what i can do.
Thanks guys, i'm working on it. Trying to keep some of the GMT400 era styling on it. No need to reinvent the wheel.

Yup. The later bumpers sit slightly farther out actually, and a touch lower IIRC.
Yeah I had a feeling... I was messing around in the garage with it the other night since progress has stalled, waiting on money for parts . I almost like the idea of keeping it "year correct" with the 93 grille.
(obviously would need a new grille as this one is all flaky)
