NP243 transfer case motor pooped? Violent wife....

hey just trying to fix my wife's 4x4 before she slays me and turns me into her chaperone

She has push button 4x4 and an np243. When pressing the button I don't hear the transfer case motor engaging.

Any sure way to test this? All fuses check out, swapped the dash switch with a working one, and tested the front actuator with 12v and it dog dicked

What does this mean? Like mud can destroy it? The vehicle is on pavement only.

Sounds like it's your switch. I replaced 3 in my dad's truck already. Along with 1 motor. They are not cheap.

Which switch? Like inside the cab?

Or is there another switch somewhere?

Would this switch going bad cause the transfer case motor to not make any noise?

****, it would be cheaper to keep the current wife, and fix the truck in the long run.
It could be the shift motor on the case that took a crap.

Code 1 for tccm, through my research I've learned it's a normal code and doesn't mean anything really.


While pressing the button it blinks in 4hi or 4low and then 'thinks' and then just goes back to 2hi.... the driveshaft is turnable during this process (not engaged) and there is no audible noise from the transfer case


Any procedures for bench testing the transfer case motor? Example applying 12v to a certain pin to see if it moves or maybe hitting it with a hammer?
