answer to any 4l60e trouble

Had trans rebuilt. Wasnt sure if cruise was lost before or after. Didnt worry about it. Not big deal. Torque converter lock up started searchin at highway speed. Brand new converter and rebuild. Corvette servo and mild shift kit. Thought maybe it had somethin to do with brake switch. Diagnosed brake switch through cruise control with multi meter. Replaced brake switch i have cruise now. Converter locks up like normal but doesnt unlock when i release gas until i hit the brake. Seems weird is it anything to worry about? Havent drivin it enough to see previous symptom of lock and unlock at high way speed. Then eventually no lock. Did not happen often. Noticed it right away happen for 2 days maybe. After it happened the first time. I parked to go inside afterwards didnt happen. About 30 min drive 60-70mph. Then next time wouldnt lock at all. Stopped went into store come back drove 5 min lock up fine. Drove homeb 20bmin 50ish miles an hour locked up right unlocked when i lifted gas pedal about 200ish rpm jump. Now it locks fine but when i lift gas it stays locked until i accelerate or brake. Or let off gas long enough for truck to slow down 5+ mph. Any thoughts. Everything else seems to be workin order

I have a 1995 Chevy 4×4 4l60e I lost all gears in it awhile ago started with third and went down hill fast. I pulled over and shut.it off. I got out and checked fluid. it was fine. got back in it started it up had Fisher gear solid once it wanted to shift into 2nd I lost all gears again. I thought torque converter . so I changed it alone with fluid. first start it shifted in all gears but it acts like it's slipping in the worst kinda way. no leaks am I missing something ?

Yes you forgot the rebuild rarely do you have a 4l60e act funky and not need a rebuild.

  • Hey guys, i have a 96 k1500 4x4 with the 5.7. When i got the truck it had the b&m racing shift plus installed. Recently only when i am in 4hi after going thru first gear it almost seems like it goes right into overdrive and bogs down the engine. I have the shift settings on the shift plus set to off its just strange how it only.does it in 4hi. The tranny is relativly new also.

99 2 door tahoe. Truck drives great way better than stock trans. Still stock motor. Just assumed the shift kit upgraded solenoids and servo. Pretty sure theres nothing wrong been drivin for a month or so now no problems. Not really concerned with it any more brake switch was makin it act funky.

I bought my truck at 73,000 miles. At 175,000 now, and this problem has always been there never changed. When starting from a stop, I get a slight shudder feeling right around the 1600-1800rpm area that goes away by 2000rpm. Can only feel it when starting from a stop and in 1st gear. Never had any other issues, and got a complete fluid change when I first got it along with filter.
