Got mine on last weekend by myself. Had 3/4 of it done in about 4 hours. The last 1/4 took me an entire day. One of the body mount bolts had snapped and had to drill it out. The front bumper took a good few hours to get back on since it is pretty bent up due to the PO putting a front hitch on.

I just received my performance acc 3" body lift, it is saying that I need to weld the transmission shaft (auto) and some of the bed supports.

I thought all the body lifts were no welding required.

I do not have access to a welder, should I return the BL?

I have a 1990 K1500.

Many guys don't even use the bed supports. However, if you haul heavy loads (stone, concrete, etc) I would put them in. I don't know anything about the auto trans, but I don't think there is any welding required.

This is step 7 from the instructions.

"7. Automatic transmisson.

a. Lengthen the transmission shift rod.

b. Scribe a line along the shift rod just above the

first bend at the top of the linkage rod.

c. Cut the shift rod through the scribed line.

d. Place the shift rod extension between the two

pieces of the shift rod. Align the scribed line and weld extension in place."

In the middle of installing the kit, anyone know which bed point the small body block goes on?

Yah there's one in the middle where the frame has a carriage bolt and a big one won't fit

That is what the directions said, it was to short. I moved it to the front bed mount so it couldn't be seen and had to build it up with washers so it was tall enough.

My kit is also missing the bed support brackets.

Hmmm. I never used those anyway.
