Being a 92 though that's easy peasy, an 85 Chevy would have come stock with what he needs.
If i remember right they went to the one piece in 86 so that would be different then an 85. Also where did he say it was a 85? I don't see it posted anywhere.

Does he have an 86 engine? I don't recall. Did they ever do a carb'd 1 pc rear main engine? We had an 86 or 87 TBI van back in the day. I've gotta wonder if the whole 1 pc 2 pc delineator was car vs TBI?

From what he said he has a 92 engine for sure but Its bad. I do not know if there was ever a carbed 1 piece. Im guessing it is an 85 or older engine since he is reusing his heads.

Exactly. Mostly it comes down to 1 pc flywheel on 1 pc block and 2 pc on 2 pc block.

86, as I recall, was the first possible year f9r TBI in the trucks. AFAIK 2
1987 TBI engines were still 2 piece blocks.

Ree-hee-heally? Good to know, I always ASSumed the 1pc and TBI came together.

The flywheel needs to match the engine, they are different.

No the 71 block would be a 2 piece rear main seal and the 92 is a one piece. They are different flywheels. I don't know what the difference is between the two. Ive never had both sitting next to each other.
