I did a double din in my 99 Suburban. I used the Metra kit for the install. I also added a backup camera.

Pioneer really seem to have captured the quality again. I know for a while they were cheap and would last about 6mo. I have a Pioneer AVH2440 at home going in my 92. My nephew has the AVH1300 and he has apple. Loves it. No issues, navi runs off the phone but works well. Traffic reporting seems to be good but he uses Wayz.

Pioneer AVH4200NEX or 4201 with camera. Very solid double din with a solid track record. That what I'm planning for my 99' tahoe with the metra kit.

I had the Sony XAV-AX100 installed in my 1998 and I am happy with the fitment and ease of use of the unit. I got a USB plug from Amazon and had them put a blockoff plate where the CD player was and hook it up to the unit, so it charges my phone and connects to the unit. I will get a pic of it.

I installed a Pioneer AVH-1330NEX with a rear view camera. It has Apple CarPlay and it works great. I wish it had tactile buttons for Forward/Back and a rotary volume, but I can’t complain too much because it is a great unit.

I installed the USB cable in the cubby hole, as well as the Bass Boost knob for my amp.

Your 93 may not accommodate a double din under the center vents, I installed a JVC unit (single din) in my 88. It doesn't leave much room for larger. The radio panels I've seen are all singles for our years. I could be wrong, and I hope I am. YMMV.
