Well, looks like all the chips have aligned and fallen in place and I'm picking up a big red 99 GMC 2500 Crew Cab with a lift already installed on Wednesday. So, I thought I'd pop in and introduce myself. It's not my first GMT400, having previously owned a 94 Yukon 2dr.

But it's my first with a bed and a 454, so that should be fun.

Like all trucks almost 20 years old, it needs a few things, first will be brakes, then idler and pitman arms, then if everything else holds together new tires (they have some life, but are too small for the lift), then seat covers and bedliner.

It's mostly well maintained, the brakes are a recent issue from a seized caliper that warped the rotor while coming down a mountain pass, and the pitman/idler arm just needs done (a little slop in the steering). The guy that has had it is a mechanic and replaced the transmission with a low mileage used one, replaced the computer, the intermittent windshield wiper controller, the waterpump, alternator.....etc. he's got a list of the work done, and it shows, all in the last year.

I'll post pics upon delivery (or later if I get time, I have a couple on my phone).

Thanks for the warm welcome. I look forward to driving this truck. I forgot one thing on my to-do list - new mufflers. This thing is waaayyy too loud.

Welcome aboard!

Sharp looking truck! Hopefully some of your plans are removal of the stick on chrome strips on the lower doors. They hold moisture pretty bad and will eventually cause rust.
