hey everyone, I've been gone for a while but now I'm back... with a problem:( . so I just purchased the belltech c section kit for my 91 c1500 2wd single cab 5.7L truck and have been installing it myself. Here is where I am stuck :My truck currently has the belltech lowering shackles and hangers to lower the rear. I did the whole rear axle flip, shock extenders... everything short of cutting the frame. My truck is now too low and it does not seem that even with the c section, it will have enough clearance. Do I have to Put back on the stock shackles and hangers to do the flip kit or can I leave the hangers and throw on the stock shackles??????????? I'm sure this question has been asked and answered before but I can not find the answer no where. someone please help me. all help is much appreciated !! I will be posting pics asap

A flip kit is a 6" drop, when used with stock shackles and hangers. Combining the flip AND drop shackles and hangers is extreeeeeeeemely low. So put back the stock shackles and hangers, or at least the hangers at minimum.

Your @ a 10" drop with those kits combined.
What SOG said...
Stock front hangers & the lowering shackles moved to the other hole will be a 7" drop.
These trucks need a 3" drop diff Fr<R.
My black truck in the sig is a 4/6 in that pic.

This is it @ 4/7...

Make sure to check the pinion angle.
It's built into the kit, but those shackles to drop it that extra inch may or may not mess with that.
There's stuff you have to do to run pinion wedges, but find out if you need them first.
I'll post up on how to install them correctly, if you do.
Still in the shop right now. Instead of posting, I should be producing something.

thanks for the help and advice! couldn't I just get away with swapping out the belltech shackles for the stock shackles and keep the belltech hangers?

When I first got my truck, for the first 2 years all I did suspension-wise was a set of the dropped shackles to (sort of) level it out.
No pinion angle probs. No vibration at any speed up to the speed governer.
When I did my '97's 2/4...what a PitA to get rid of all the vibration.
Had the driveshaft balanced.
Did a complete brake job.
Swapped out the axles with a known good set.
Re-torqued the wheels.
Changed wheels thinking that they may have something to do with it.
Vibration city.
Measured that angle again. It was close. Within reason.
I was down to guessing at this point. Frustrated.
So...To hell with what the angle indicator was telling me.
I tried 3 different sets of wedges installed in both directions.
The last one got it right. Of course! My luck! Lol!
I blame all the B.S on those hangers.
When the truck goes lower, to remove those hangers, I'll lift the box on just that side. It'll make the job a lot easier.
When we did the install, the box was on. 7 guys in the shop & none of us could get our hands in there. We had to get the office girl with the little tiny hands to get the nuts on the bolts. And even then, we had to glue them to her fingers first!
Yea. I know what you mean when you say that there's not a lot of room in there!
