I'm starting to rethink the turn down. Might chop the tail pipe off 6" and angle it toward the rear instead of straight down.

Be careful abt the heat going back to thou. I'd think abt and turn down but angled more like a side exit.

Yea when I get it on the lift I'll snap some pics.
I can trim it and put 2 more pie cuts on it to angle it rearward and a little outboard.
Fiberglass roll pan is the only thing that bothers me.

I'm kinda excited now. This is the first exhaust I've done front to back.
It was something crazy like 450" of welding on this silly exhaust. I just finished welding all but the awaiting Vbands and that's it.

Don't do the turn down. On a lowered vehicle it'll drone like crazy. I did some in front of tires with turn downs and it was loud as fak and drones crazy. Lucky me I whacked one coming into a driveway and ripped it off so the other one followed quickly.

On my diesel I have a 4" and the mandrel over axle had this sweep that rolled the tip kinda down kinda back. I got some resonance so I slashed it to it faces 90% side and that solved it. Good luck

I had a full 4.5" Turboback exhaust on my 2002 Subaru WRX. Turbos love big exhausts if you can get over how loud it'll be. Building this truck for performance I assume?

I'm Goin to try it with the 90* turn down. That way I can test other stuff with it. If it's quiet, I'll ride with it. If it drones or something I don't like I'll shorten it and put a 45-60* turn back on it instead.

4.5" on a 4cyl? That's a whole lot of exhaust flow for that little motor.

It's just going to be a Daily driver I'll take to the track and have fun with.

I really wanted to do a 3.5" exhaust with large mufflers. But after in looking for 2 weeks and coming up bout half dry I went with 4" I had at work. Shipping on 3.5"x10' stainless pipe was $100+.

The resonator and muffler was $130? Off Amazon. And Vbands were $40. Throw in free stainless pipe and it's what I went with.
We went from 3" to 4" on my buddy's 5.3 with a S476/87 turbo and it made a pretty big difference in spool time and had to add fuel above 5000 rpms so it helped a good bit.

My goals are simple.... quiet, 25mpg, 10s in the 1/4 and not burn a whole lot of money on it. I'll prolly have less than $4000 in the whole thing when I'm done.
The truck was kinda free. I did a lot of work for a buddy and he gave it to me. And I had alot of these parts left over from past projects.

4" Vbands come in today. Fixing to get under there and start welding some more.
