So as I have shown in my build thread, I have a brand new rad support. Here is the catch... I didnt take the old one apart. I have no clue where everything goes. I have the cross bars in and the hood latch support in as well as the hood latch. I have the horn behind the passenger side headlight in. I have a second horn with a different bracket than the first one. I have no clue where it goes. The wifes truck only has one horn and its on the hood latch support, but my second horn doesnt seem to fit there. If anyone has pics of their grill removed or detailed pics of the full assy, I am pretty good at making a picture worth 1000 words.

ok, im lost. I have a 97 heavy half (see name) and I am confused as hell!!!!!

I dont have the same ground clearance as stock 1500 or 2500's around here. I am 1/2 a bumper taller than Z71's and half a bumper shorter than 2500's. To the best of my knowledge, the trucks I used as comparison are stock. I'm 99% sure I can clear 33's no problem bone stock. No trimming, no cranking, no nothing! Now I wont say its for sure as I dont have a set of 33 for my 16's, just the wifes 33x15's to mock up with. I'm, wanting to run 35's because any bigger gets too costly to replace rubber. Do i need to do a 6" lift like the 1500 guys or do some minor stuff like the 2500 guys? Dont get me wrong, more lift is always better, but I dont want to drop $1500 on a lift I dont need or worse, have too small a tire for my lift. I saw a very lifted truck driving around on smaller than my stock tires once and wanted to slap the guy driving it. I'm trying to avoid getting slapped here. LOL

Newb Here!! Just like the title says, my 97 tahoe (350 vortec/ 4L60E) drives, shifts perfect when you first start driving it. The TCC kicks in at 40mph on the dot and I can hop on the freeway and do 65-70+ no problem as long as im on the freeway with the TCC engaged. If I drive around town and do some stop and go for around 15-20 minutes and then hop on the freeway, I have no TCC lock-up what so ever. It does this about 90% of the time more often when its above 80* outside. When its hot I can almost count on it. Sometimes I can baby it into lock up by driving up to around 80mph at half throttle with no lock up and then let off the gas to the point where the throttle is just cracked open. after that it MIGHT slip into lock up. I haven't done anything to try and solve the problem yet because I dont want to just go into this without the slightest idea of what could be wrong. Any Help?? Ill buy drinks if we can get a sure fix to this (If your in the Cleveland area) this has been driving me NUTZ!! BTW after its starts to act crazy, 99% of the time its followed by crazy hard shifting 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 but when its acting normal it shifts smooth as glass... WIERD?!?!

3630 - Edelbrock Aluminum Fuel Rails $70.00 +shipping
These CNC-machined fuel rails have a 9/16'' i.d. fuel passage, a flow-through design, and 3/8'' pipe threads on both ends. Necessary hardware is included.

http://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/3630/10002/-1
Edelbrock 29785 - Edelbrock Victor E EFI Intake Manifolds $250.00+ shipping
Ideal for high-rpm drag race applications, these Victor E EFI manifolds have a larger and deeper plenum than other manifolds. They provide maximum power in the higher rpm range for engines with standard port location iron and aluminum heads. The runners have a tapered cross-section, and plenty of material at the manifold port exit allows port matching to the small port heads used in NHRA Super Stock classes. The large plenum and runner volume of these manifolds makes them ideal for alcohol-fueled applications.
Total Engine Control - TECGT $400.00 +shipping
With the patented, multiprocessor, high resolution Ignition that Electromotive is famous for as a core, and a new generation of micro-controller to manage integration, the TEC-GT may be slightly smaller, but it is definitely not a light weight when it comes to Engine Management.
Designed specifically with the smaller, high-revving engines in mind, where space is at a premium and ease of installation is only second to an absolute requirement for unrivaled performance from the Ignition and Fuel Delivery. Making more power per cubic inch or centimeter, these engines will not tolerate spark scatter and dropped ignition events, making Electromotive’s solution virtually mandatory.
Though targeted at smaller engines, the TEC-GT will handle larger jobs as well - able to run 8 cylinder, phased sequential engines. This concept is also a real crowd-pleaser when the wiring and configuration options of our TEC3r become overwhelming or are just not needed.
The TEC-gt will run most 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 cylinder engines in our standard phased-sequential injection scheme. With a cam-sensor, most 1,2,3,4 and 6 cylinders can be run in full sequential mode.
Other engine management systems typically claim to run ‘any ignition configuration’ yo
u need. Problem is - being a jack of all trades allows you to be master of none. Only Electromotive delivers a patented ignition circuit with every product.

hey guys hows it goin. My name is KJ and I am new to the site but definitely not to forums. I live in Coventry RI and I just purchased my second truck last week and I'm very excited to start working on it. My first truck was a 1989 GMC s15 ex cab 2wd and I built her from the ground up. Unfortunately I had an 80 something year old lady jump out in front of me with her mini van. that ended that project. So now I have a 1988 GMC 1500 Extra cab with a 350 and an 8' bed. My plans are to do a 3" body with 2.5" suspension lift, exhaust, visor, headlights and tail lights, skid plate, roll bar, trail lights, and some other odds and ends.
