I have a '94 Gmc Sierra K1500 ECSB with the S code 6.5 Turbo diesel and 4L80E trans, I have the lever controled transfer case in it. What model of transfer case do I have in this truck?

Thank you for the info, are there any other transfer cases that use the same trans adaptor? I know where I can lay hands on another 4L80E from a '95 k1500 and was wondering if any other transfer cases are a direct swap for the np241? I'm mostly wanting to know if there are any passenger side drop cases that will be compatable with the output and adaptor currently on the trans. The transmission will be used in my '69 GMC sfa build.

88-91 suburbans and k5 had the pass drop 241, if i remember right the 88-89 model 241 in the blazer/suburban had mechanical speedo so that may work better for you, th400 or manual trans had the 32 spline, if you find one from a 700r4 you can still swap the input from the 27 spline to the 32 spline you need

Thanks for the info! Though if i do run a 4L80E i will need to retain the VSS for the stand alone computer for that trans. So im prob narrowing myself down to looking for a 90-91 Sub/Blazer 241

actually a 4wd 4l80e does not have the rear vss in the housing like the 2wd one (just has a plug to fill the hole)so you could technically put one in a 4wd housing and move the t-case vss wire to the trans you could also use a 2wd trans and divorced np205 for your project in this manner if you need better driveshaft angles , the only time the vss would be wrong would be in 4 lo as it would be reading the trans output and not the t-case output

Did you swap in the 80e?

1/2t equiped 6.5TD's had a 700R4/60e factory.

My '94 was spec'd out pretty heavy duty

Heavy Duty chassis option (3/4 ton/1 ton chassis)
4L80E trans
Transmission cooler
Towing package

Now that you mention this however im thinking i should prob check to see if in fact that the '95 that donated its engine to my truck has the '60 or the '80.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but if it's a 1500, it's a 1500 frame. It may have an F44 package with a 14SF out back, extra leaf in the packs, higher GVWR, but it's still going to be a factory 60e and 1/2t frame. My '97 had the same package which effectively made it the same as the 6 lug 2500 GMT400's.

Again, that's only if it's still factory. 80e's aren't a very difficult swap if you know what you're doing.
