I was in the process of cleaning out the inside of my 96 k1500 4wd 5.7 4l60E, i have the floor shifter t-case. I was going to pull the cover to clean the carpet better around it and change the bulbs inside the 4wd lights. I was wondering how you take the handle off the shift lever. Is it threaded on there or what? Or would i have to take the lever out from below?
Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks,
Jarred

On your 96 it should be pressed on. Your gonna have to pull it up pretty hard to get it off.
