parting out my 95 and someone wants the rear end, and the transfer case and whatever else for his 97, but said it wont work because of the gears
don't think that's a problem if he takes everything from mine and put it in his, or is there some other 95 issue, I know 95 is a weird year

The gears might not match his front end

You have a reduction in the t-case, but there are final drive gears in the differentials that have to match. Find the rpo codes for gear ratios in both trucks and make sure they match.

Most of the K1500s came with 3.73 I believe but you need to make sure or that new t-case won't last but a few feet in 4wd.

Should bolt right in if both 1500's.

Front and rear differential gears need to be matched in order to run 4x4 without drive line binding and breakage though.

'95 rear will bolt right into a '97, as said above, as long as front and rear differential gears are the same, most 1500's got 3.42's or 3.73's.

RPO Code on glovebox sticker is

GU6- 3.42
GT4- 3.78
G80- Eation "Gov-Lock" Locker (If G80 is not present on sticker, truck has open diff, no locker or posi)
