I need to be able to tow my 97 Tahoe behind an RV, as I understand it the was possible in 99 because the NP8 transfer case has a neutral position, I unfortunately have a NP1. Can anyone provide some insight in doing this? My 97 Tahoe is low milage and I really love it, I really would hate to sell it off just to pick up a 99 that might not be as nice just to have this capability.

Thanks for any and all suggestions!

i assume you are talking about an NP201 and NP208? they should be interchangeable, but might lead to driveshaft issues with teh length of them

you could always just disconnect the driveshafts and secure them to the truck, it's only a couple of bolts. Depending on how much you're going to tow the tahoe behind the rv that may be easier than a transfer case swap.
