Im doing a trans swap on my 95 silverado z71 it already had a trans swap but i fried the th350 so had it rebuilt. Upon removal i noticed gear oil pouring out of the tail shaft of the transfer case. Last time i checked it took ATF fluid not gear oil. Transfer case worked fine but now i need to refill it with fluid what are my options? Refill with the wrong stuff "gear oil 80/90' or put the correct ATF in it and hope its good? or open it up clean it out and fill it.
