    Misfire Just Off Idle

The computer actually believes that the RPM is changing, not just a malfunctioning instrument cluster tach. Therefore, it's going to command fuel and spark based on the RPM it "thinks" the engine is achieving. This is almost certainly an ignition issue...with an outside chance of RFI-induced...

    1997 5.7 Vortec misfire/stumble

That's what crossed my mind. He's feeling the torque converter clutch disengage.

Sway bar link angle and popping noises..etc

With the idler arm disconnected, the rest of the steering linkage is going to flop around like a wounded guppy. The only thing I see for sure is that the Pitman arm splines have relative motion, and that is a problem. It may not be the only problem, but it's the only one I see in the latest video.

LC9 swap from donor truck - do it?

LC9 is an LS-family engine. Wise. Not even close. 315 horsepower vs. 210, approx. 1.5 times the horsepower--not 2X--3X. 338 ft/lbs torque vs. 300 But the torque peak on the LC9 will be at a higher RPM, so the 5.7 will seem stronger most of the time. "Illegal" computer tuning Remove...

Brake warning light flickering and engine running funny

Three things can turn on the instrument cluster "BRAKE" light. 1. Park brake engaged 2. "Safety switch" on the Combination Valve is activated by a hydraulic system failure 3. ABS problems None of those are directly related to engine performance. Kinda guessing that the light, and the engine...

LC9 swap from donor truck - do it?

Perhaps a moderator will move this thread to the LSX + Carb Swaps sub-forum. "I" would not bother to remove a 5.7L in favor of a 5.3L, ESPECIALLY one with cylinder deactivation. The 5.3 can make power, but dead-stock it's not much of an upgrade. Maybe even a downgrade, depending on usage.

    Misfire Just Off Idle

None of that accounts for the tach jumping. Almost guaranteed to be an ignition problem or a tach problem causing the tach to be inaccurate. Connect a scan tool, verify engine RPM via the onboard computer instead of the instrument cluster tach. If the onboard computer is getting faulty RPM...

    Light sludge in intake valley

'88 K1500. Frantz filter mounted to inner fender, ahead of washer bottle, near evap. canister. Supply hose routed to oil port beside distributor. Tee in port, oil pressure switch mounted to top of tee, side of tee connects to supply hose. Return hose goes to Caprice oil pan, identical to...

Sway bar link angle and popping noises..etc

In terms of steering wheel rotational play, you have numerous loose "front-end" parts. However, the steering shaft-to-steering-gear "rag joint" is infamous for being wiped-out. The better fix is to replace it with a U-joint, but even a fresh rag joint would be an improvement. If the truck...

Ideally, it's the first thing you type into the text of the first post. If it's in the title, senile old folks like me forget between the time we read the title then click on the thread link, and start reading the first post. If it's in the signature, or your user info, there's no guarantee...

    Knock Sensore code P0325 in K2500 7.4

I have not researched this. So what follows is merely a guess, and not an educated guess at that. The knock sensors put out voltage, but extremely little amperage. Therefore, the input impedance of your test system will be critical. Most all multimeters sold now have a "computer safe" input...

My A/C isn't working, I've replaced almost everything.

My '88, getting plugged with too many pine needles and cottonwood fluff. A vacuum, some compressed-air, tweezers and way too much time made it look much better. Still not perfect. Should probably be replaced.

    Light sludge in intake valley

You weren't thinking of driving 20 miles with an oil pan full of diesel fuel...were you? If so, be sure your cell-phone has a full charge. You'll likely be calling the tow-truck part-way through that drive. When you get home, you'll be researching crate engines, vs. the cost of a D-I-Y...

Sway bar link angle and popping noises..etc

He's posted multiple videos ABSOLUTELY PROVING that the idler and Pitman have slop. Seems to be the idler bracket; and the Pitman splines. We know that the lower control arm bushings are bad. I gather that at least one tire is out-of-round. Loose ball joints, and loose tie rod end sleeves...

    Radial Play Specifications

Is there such a thing as a full-float axle with 6-lug hubs? I'd have expected a 9.5" semi-float with 6-lugs. Get a "14-bolt", 9.5" 6-lug semi-float axle of the correct gear ratio FROM A 4WD GMT400, and it drops right in with four U-bolts and a conversion U-joint. Choose your donor vehicle...

    Light sludge in intake valley

"Diesel oil" is not what you're looking for. VERIFY THE PCV SYSTEM (from the fresh-air inlet, to the hose plugged into manifold vacuum, and everything in-between including the valve itself) before you do ANYTHING else. Or just change oil more frequently--but not "20 miles" frequently. Maybe...

    88-94 5.7 Suburban A/C Diagnosis and Tuning

Who engineered that 2-compressor adapter bracket? Any problems with the OEM aluminum bracket having all the load in front, instead of being split front/rear? The belt tension would tend to twist the compressors "downward", leading to torque on the front half of the OEM bracket.

    1994 k1500 wild misfire

I'd be looking in the service manual for the proper procedure for replacing the IAC. One wonders if it's now messed-up due to the connector being installed improperly. Excellent! Not if it's a compression or fuel problem. You might if it was an ignition issue.

10-bolt axle isn't worth the time, money, effort, or enthusiasm to fix. Find a light-duty K2500 with a 6-lug 9.5" "14-bolt" axle of the correct gear ratio. Scrap your rear axle, refresh the brakes on the 9.5" axle, new gear lube, four U-bolts and a conversion U-joint, and have fun.
