I pulled two at the salvage yard. If you don't care about any other components you can get them off pretty fast. It's a good thing too because the first one was warped. Just my luck. I paid a guy to install the second one and it has held for four years.
Nah it just comes out of that harness. The connector is large enough to fit over a relatively large bolt. Something on the back of the engine or the dizzy clamp, maybe? I took the lower intake off in maybe 2015 and a mechanic had the intake off plus the dizzy in 2020 I think. I guess I could tie...
You didn't mention what you will be towing....
Based on member recommendations in another thread I bought the Gabriel "Max Control". About $45/ea. The most I ever tow is a 4x8 trailer full of green firewood. Truck handles well.
Does anyone know what this is and where it connects? I assume it's a ground for something. I discovered it while changing the plug wires. I would guess it's been disconnected for 5-8 years and the truck hasn't burned up yet.
I don't know the alternator model and I don't know if the Votec is different from your truck.
The guy at the parts store told me there was a high output option so I said sure. The bracket holes did not line up so I brought it back. I think you need a different belt as well.
I'll give you points on the Tombstone reference.
As for the "driving down the road" pressure I think it would be variable based on fuel consumption which would be impossible to quantify from one truck to another.
Well there you go. Did you even read the previous replies? The test is conducted with the engine off, key on.
Watch for the initial spike, then make note of the pressure after it leaks down for a few seconds. Go get the Chilton manual for your truck. It covers all this stuff.
Your soot out the...
