1999 C3500 CC DRW Build
GMT900 seats and center; apparently it's possible to mount that flip up center console in a GMT400 with a 60/40 but it's tight. I've explored it, halfway tempted to try- BNielsen

The pickup hitch is 32" wide on the cross tube, the C&C one is 34", probably just wind up reselling this one and trying to procure the proper hitch. Always do, I'm hyper aware of making sure everything is latched and rigged up properly I had no idea twisting them up would cause the potential...- BNielsen

Goofed up a little bit on the hitch, I checked part numbers before I bought it and got confused, fitment did say it will go on an 88-98 Chevy, but only a cab and chassic truck! I'm hoping I can reassemble it with the eyes flipped in and it'll line up, probably going to have to drill a couple...- BNielsen

Thought of that too; hence the clevis and not the wimpy carabiner Those d-rings are rated for 13K and the trailer receiver is rated for 16K. I (probably) won't ever tow that heavy (at least not with a bumper pull) but it's a peace of mind thing. I'm wanting to get a higher rated drop hitch too...- BNielsen

I should've specified, I always hooked chains but the loops on the hitch were always a pain, my dad had the same issue with the C3500 when we had our first camper, he started out using those little carabiner type things but he didn't like how wimpy they were, a trip to Napa and he came home with...- BNielsen

Truth be told I never liked hooking the chain loops up, I always managed to get them jammed or something, d-rings all the way. I never really paid attention until I saw another member on here who installed a B&W on his truck, I love how clean it looks and it let me mount my 7/4 pole connector...- BNielsen

Picked up a new hitch, need to swap the side brackets for it to fit. Dude bought it for his truck, used it once or twice and then put a flatbed on his truck. Super jazzed, these hitches are close to $400 now off E-Trailer, I paid like $320 for the one on the red truck back in 2020, so I was over...- BNielsen

Camper Top Combatability between GMT 400 vs 800?
The GMT800 topper is about half an inch wider on each side, doable but doesn't look great. Played around with the topper my dad acquired for his 2003 Duramax, loved the look, hell even the paint matched almost perfectly but it fit like crap. Alternator died the other night, had time today to pull the old one off. Gonna run sometime this week to get a new one. Might grab a new tensioner too, this one is a little wobbly. Seems like it's been a hellacious start to the season; my brother lives in Redfield Iowa, about an hour from Minden and he was watching radar like a hawk. After speaking to a couple guys who know a little about plow mounts we deduced this is a late 90s Western plow mount. Thanks to you I decided to go back looking for something in my local haunt of a junkyard, I couldn't remember where it was and I thought it got crushed. Just buried under a Nissan; a 98 K1500 that rotted in half, but it's got what's apparently pretty decent still bolted to the front.- BNielsen
